Lust Academy is one of the games (now turned into a series) I have been following from the very beginning, dating back to the famous COVID year of 2020. Since the very start, the game has been above the competition in the majority of points, especially in the graphical aspect. I loved it then and I love it now. Here is why.
History of Lust Academy
As previously mentioned, Lust Academy by Bear in The Night lunched with a short game version when it was first released in 2020 (majority of the original scenes were later redone as the developer got a grip on things). Although there was a magical twist to the game, it was obvious that Lust Academy did capitalize on the popularity of the college-themed porn games that were becoming increasingly popular at the time. However it was one of the few games that also aimed for fantasy’s magical elements and a parody theme (The Naughty Wizard Harry). The developer benefited from the fact that such approach opened the door for him to produce something really magical. The superior graphic helped a lot as well.
Fast forward to 2023. Lust Academy is a well-known adult game with two seasons already finished and a third one currently in development. The quality was improving with every release so it’s easy to say that it came a long way since the first couple of scenes.
Since Hogwarts Legacy was released, Lust Academy, a parody porn game about Harry Potter, gained even more traction. And I’m glad that it did.
Lust Academy: The Story
Now, the plot appears to be relatively straightforward, particularly if you have played similar games or are familiar with Harry Potter. You take on the role of a young man who, of course, has evil adoptive parents and who gets accepted to Cordale Academy, a school that teaches magic and what not. Naturally, you agree (sexy classmates help for sure).
The academy is filled with stunning women, magical creatures, enigmas, locations, and sexy opportunities, as you might expect. You have a choice of several different plotlines, and the game actually gives you a bit of flexibility in terms of how you want to approach the plot.
Lust Academy does not try to hide the obvious parody elements. From the classrooms to the seductive “Hermoine”. However where it is necessary, the game maintains originality and freshness. You will learn how to make potions, perform magic tricks, bang a lot of sexy girls, during your educational attainment (LGBTQ+ content is included but it is completely optional). The world-building and lore exposition in the game are truly impressive.
Lust Academy: Gameplay
There are two routes in approaching Lust Academy. A story mode and a sandbox mode, which I believe the developer originally had in mind when creating the game. The playstyle is what is different between the two. While the story mode is more of a traditional Visual Novel (VN) experience where most decisions are made with text choices and the emphasis is more on the story and the visuals, the sandbox mode will give you a little more freedom in how you interact with the plot and events as well as provide a greater sense of discovery.
What mode you will pick is totally up to you and as far as I could gather from other players experience it really boils down to personal preference.
Lust Academy: The Visuals and Sound
In my opinion, this is where the game really shines. I’ve been intrigued by the graphical features ever since I played the game for the first time back in 2021. the animations, model design, etc. are all if high quality. The characters are exceptionally varied; there has to be at least 20 girls in Season 1 alone, and subsequent seasons continue to add more. The girls have all been beautifully crafted.
The world-building is strong; great care was taken to create settings, scenes, and an overall effect that feels both familiar and fresh, occasionally even adding an aroma of the magical. The entire UI design is fantastic. The Lust Academy’s most compelling point, without a doubt!
Lust Academy: The Sex
Sex is common in Lust Academy. You can share “magical moments” with a great deal of different characters as well. However, the game’s entire lewd component needs time to develop. This gives the game more time to introduce the characters and the plot. Leading to a better attachment to the characters later through the game.
TL;DR
A carefully constructed world and a variety of characters are presented in Lust Academy. The game has pleasing artistic qualities (both in terms of sound and visuals). The characters are likeable, and the narrative is quite enjoyable. Everything is easy to access thanks to the intuitive UI. The lewd aspect of the game takes some time to fully develop, but once it does, it’s exactly what you’d expect from an adult game. Lust Academy features an abundance of sex and romanceable characters.
There is a lot of content in the series. It can take about 10 hours just to finish Season 1. Remember, there are three of them.
