New Tame It Too! prototype is on the way!

Hi everyone!

Over the past few months, we have been actively working on a new Tame It Too! prototype and have been sharing news about it. Now we're happy to announce that the prototype is almost finished!

Here's a little bit about the reasons why we started the second prototype and what you can expect from it.

As you may remember, we released the first prototype of Tame It Too! last year. The feedback we received on the first prototype was pretty restrained. We spent some time trying to optimize the game on UE, but we still didn't get a decent result. This fall we made a difficult, but hopefully correct decision to start Tame It Too! from scratch on a less voracious engine.

The main requirements were to keep the general concept of the first prototype, add survival gameplay, and provide more accessibility on the hardware side by simplifying the graphics. And to simplify the starting location a bit, so that it would be easier for you to find the Cat 😉

The landscape will be familiar to you from the previous prototype, but there will be some changes. Among other things, our goal is to make moving around the island easier and faster, and we are taking into account your suggestions that you wrote to us about after the first prototype.

The prototype has all of the basic survival mechanics. Lee can gather materials for construction, build his shelter, set up and light a fireplace, hunt, gather useful resources, make tools on the workbench and cook.

Locations are filled with life. There are crabs running on the beach, hares jumping in the woods, fish swimming in the water, and birds flying in the sky. You’ll be able to hunt animals and crabs and cook their meat! The swamp area is now an atmospheric and dangerous place where you must be careful not to fall into the jaws of the crocodiles lurking in the water!

We fill the locations with new details to make it fun for you to explore the island. Also we have added several new points of interest to the island map and placed quest items where they should be.

Now we are working the animated scenes with Cat, Octa and Fairy into the game, which will require some tweaks due to the fact that we have moved to a different engine.

The creation of a new character is also gradually moving forward. It's a bunny girl, and some of you may have seen her in the early 2D visual concepts we showed on Patreon last year. We're not sure if we'll be able to finish her in time for the first release of this prototype, but either way, work on her 3D model is progressing nicely!

✨And most importantly, friends, we expect to finish the prototype very soon! There's not much left to do and we'll move on to testing and then we'll be ready for release. Soon you'll be able to see the fruits of our labor for yourself!✨
