SUMMERTIME SAGA v.20.17 ETA & WHY IS DARK COOKIE LOSING PATRONS

Ever Since 2016 Summertime Saga is one of the top adult games. When it started out it took only a year for DarkCookie to gather 5000 paying patrons. And by the 2020 he was in the 30k mark. A staggering number that by the calculations by Graphtreon nets the dev a 65k earnings a month.

But it seems the long update times are starting to take its toll on the support numbers. Summertime Saga has lost 10% of its active support in last 6 months alone. With the decline ongoing and pretty soon DarkCookie will hit support numbers he was having in 2019. Still the number is pretty huge but maybe it is time for an alarm to sound.

In short The full tech update it is not coming anytime soon. DarkCookie is taking its time to finish this technical update. What the developer is mostly doing now is updating all of the technical aspects of the game. That doesn't mean there won't be any new scenes or animations in fact he already added a bunch in the last technical update of v.20.16.

With the current speed of development we should see the final Tech update in about 2 months. But it is very likely there will be a Christmas update of v20.17. This was done in previous years so I reckon it will be the same this year.

Is there going to be a Summertime Saga 2?

Well after the final tech update we might see a glimpse of a new game. After 6 years it might be time for a brand new project, especially as the Summertime Saga is slowly loosing its steam. Is Dark Cookie going to do a brand new game or a sequel is yet to be seen. Whatever it is it is going to be a major event in the industry.
